CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS: What, How, Why Interview Series
At iPrintfromHome.com, we work with artists and photographers from across the United States and Canada. We're inspired everyday by the images that they send to us and by the stories they share.
A few years ago, we started our "What, How, Why" interview series so that we could take a closer look at some of these fascinating people and share their stories with you.
We ask each participating artist or photographer three simple questions:
1. What do you do?
2. How do you do it?
3. Why do you use iPrintfromHome.com?
Click here to read previously published interviews.
We're writing to you today to invite you to submit. If you would like to be considered for this feature, please e-mail us with answers to the above quoted questions. Please also be sure to give us permission to review the images in your account. If your interview is selected, we'll contact you to let you know. Looking forward to reviewing your submission!
Thanks,

It's getting close to Christmas and we are getting lots of calls asking if it's too late to order prints in time to give as gifts. Unfortunately, time is running out. The only products that you can order that will definitely be done before Christmas are Photographic (order by 6am, December 23), Giclee and Inkjet Prints (order by 6am, Dec 21). It is too late to order any mounting services (ultra, foam or plak) and any stretched canvas prints.

This time of year, we strongly recommend choosing one of the FedEx shipping options. Most of you choose USPS 1st Class, USPS Priority or Free Shipping when you order at iPrintfromHome.com. Although the post office is generally very fast, please note that these are not guaranteed shipping options. If you definitely need your order before Christmas, you should choose one of the guaranteed FedEx shipping options when you place your order.
At iPrintfromHome.com, our standard turnaround time for Photographic Prints is as follows: if you place your order by 6am EST, we have it ready for shipping the same day, Monday through Saturday. Any order that comes in on Sunday will be shipped on Monday.
Please note that the turnaround time for Giclee Fine Art Prints is 3 business days (weekdays), and that the daily production cut-off is 6am EST.
For more specific information about each shipping method, please click here.
Here's what you need to do if you're really waiting until the last minute:

NOTE: Requesting foam and ultra mounting and/or stretching service will add 3 days to your turnaround time. Plak mounting will add 7 days to your turnaround time.
If you order giclee or photo inkjet prints: Please place your order by 6am on December 21st and choose FedEx Priority Overnight Saturday so that you receive your order on December 24th. NOTE: Requesting foam and ultra mounting and/or stretching service will add 3 days to your turnaround time. Plak mounting will add 7 days to your turnaround time.

Now Offering Custom Back Printing
Thank you for trusting us to help you make the prints that you sell in your Etsy Shops, on Amazon, at art shows and to your portrait and wedding photography clients. We're writing to you today to introduce our new custom back printing option to help promote your business and give your prints a more professional look.
All of our photographic prints include back printing, which is text on the back of the print that lists your order number and the file name. If you would like, we can create a custom back print for any prints ordered through your account. The first line can be customized. The second line would contain your order number. So, it could look something like this:
First line: Your Business Name
Second line: order number

What do you do?
I'm an artist that paints day of the dead as well as stylized animals, trees and fantasy creatures in watercolor and ink.
How do you do it?
If I told you that, I would be divulging my most well kept secrets - but I can say that I use layer upon layer of iridescent and opaque layers to build color and depth to my work.

Why do you use iPrintfromHome.com?
I was "anti-print" for a long time as an artist. the biggest reason was that i didn't want to invest huge amounts of money in a printer and mess with changing cartridges, buying paper for and then shipping out prints. I want to be painting new work!
Wow! iPrintfromHome has changed my entire outlook on the print process. I am thrilled to find a company who makes the print process easy and still delivers such quality.

What do you do?
I am a retired newspaperman and photographer who in retirement continues to take photographs - mostly landscapes - and paint abstracts and primitives that are shown in various art centers.
How do you do it?
My photographic "method" is to always have a camera near and to seek subjects that are affected by light - early morning, evening, weather-related. After the image is taken, I use the electronic darkroom to enhance via color saturation, conversion to black and white, cropping, filtering, etc. On painting, I photograph the original and usually have it printed on canvas.

What do you do?
I am a sketch artist, using various mediums of pencils, and shading. I have painted some, but I find that my talent is best in pencil. I often do pictures of family, friends, hands, but most often people ask a drawing of a deceased loved one.
How do you do it?
I ask for a good quality photo to be sent to my phone, and from my phone (iphone 6 plus), I sketch the image. There are several graphite artists out there, and everyone has their own technique. The best way I can explain it, and I say this to my kids.... "draw it exactly how it looks, not the way you see it". I know that may not make sense, but that's the best way I can explain it.Why do you use iPrintfromHome.com?
I have used several printers over the years. One of which was a small print shop that I worked for at one time. I usually would have them scan it in to get a good digital copy, and save it on my thumb drive. Printing copies was hard, as no one could get a copy just right from a pencil drawing. I did a lot of research on the web trying to find a great resource for reproducing art pieces, and I came across iPrintfromHome. I was thrilled when I received my first order. It's exactly like my originals, paper is good quality, and pricing is reasonable.

David Noyes
Travel Writer and PhotographerDerby, NY
What do you do?
As a travel writer and photographer, I have been fortunate to visit some of the world's great places and have been touched by both the beauty and tragedy of the human condition. I enjoy traveling to places that take me outside of my comfort zone and challenge my understanding of the world. I have learned to travel with innocent eyes, without prejudice and preconception, and to cherish my chance encounters. I was named the North American Travel Tournalist (NATJA) travel photographer of the year in 2010, 2011, and 2013. I am also very proud to have won two prestigious Lowell Thomas Awards for Excellence in travel journalism. In 2013, I launched Innocent Eyes Project, Inc., a United States-based nonprofit corporation that supports child education programs in the developing world. My first book, The Photographing Tourist: A Storyteller's Guide to Travel and Photography, was published in 2015.
How do you do it?
As the title of my book suggests, my travel experiences have almost always been on an organized tour or cruise, with a planned itinerary, accompanied by a group of strangers. They have been trips that I designed and led, trips I have escorted for tour operators, press trips I was invited to join, conference excursions, or custom itineraries with my wife on a holiday adventure. Working as a photographer on tour, you don't have the luxury to come back when the light is better, or on a different day. An itinerary, by definition means that you will be at this place, at this time, for this long, and you will probably never be back. The challenge is to think differently and make the most of the thirty minutes, hour, or two hours before moving on to the next location. I have actually grown to enjoy the challenge of a deadline, the uncertainty of my circumstances, and the lack of control. Why do you use iPrintfromHome.com?
I have known George Campos for most of my adult life. I started to learn my craft making color prints at his photography center in the mid 1980s. As the world shifted from the film to digital and moved online, George embraced the change and offered photographers a professional online resource that is among the finest in the country. When I placed my first order with iPrintfromHome, I had no question that the quality would exceptional. I have used their prints for several exhibits of my work and as presentations to valuable supporters of my charity. I am fortunate to be within driving distance of their shop, so I have also been able to get to know Sara as well. They have built a wonderful business that is building a stellar reputation with photographers across the country.

Toni Margerum
ArtistTyrone, PA
What do you do?
I am an artist. I create drawings and paintings. I love to use lots of colors in my artwork. Using acrylics really lets me express my love of colors. My artwork is always fun and expressive. My subject matter of my paintings and drawings ranges from animals, to trees, to day of the dead, to macabre art. I enjoy creating my art because it gives me the freedom to create whatever I want. I don't have to follow anyone else's rules or style - I can make up my own as I go along.
How do you do it?
I usually use either sharpies or acrylics, depending if I am drawing on paper or painting on canvas. I mainly draw 9x12 inch drawings. As for my paintings, my canvases range from 8x10 inches to 16x20 inches. Depending on what subject of art I am creating, I either paint from my head or use photo references.
Why do you use iPrintfromHome.com?
I use iPrintfromHome because it is a great service! I don't print my own prints at my home and I found that iprintfromhome gives me the best quality prints for the best price. I love being able to print so many sizes - aceos, 4x6s, and 8x10s are just a few that I get printed every time I order prints.

Get to Know Us - Love is in the air - Part 2
We couldn't be happier about the fact that you share your stories about your experiences with our company in your tweets, posts, and in your conversations with friends and family. Not only are you helping us help more people, but you're also allowing us to spend more of our time working on improving our products and services, rather than spending time and money on traditional advertising.
Your recommendations mean a lot to us. A conversation between friends, where you explain how happy you are with our services, is worth so much more than exposure to a paid advertisement. That's why we don't spend a single dollar on paid advertisements. Instead, we put 100% of our focus on making sure you are happy.
We aim to provide you with a service that delights you and never takes you for granted. If we succeed, we hope you'll tell your friends. If we fall short, we hope you'll contact us to let us know so that we can take steps to make things right.
In this age of technology and faceless interactions, we think that the main factor that differentiates iPrintfromHome from other companies is our story, our company culture, and our commitment to running a business with a heart. We want you to know who we are and why we love doing what we do. Go to iPrintfromHome.com and click on "Our Values" and "Our Process" to get to know us a little better.
We work with lots of you to help make prints that you sell through your Etsy shops. We recently joined Etsy Manufacturing and we are super excited about it. As part of the Beta launch of their program, Etsy has offered photography services to some manufacturers. For a little sneak peek behind the scenes, check out these images captured by Rachel Sifferd: Etsy Manufacturing Shoot
You can also review our Etsy Manufacturing profile here. If you sell prints on Etsy and would like to recommend us, let us know and we'll send you a link.
As always, thank you for your continued support of iPrintfromHome.com!
Thanks,
Sara, George and the iPrintfromHome.com team
