iPrintfromHome Workshop:
The Nuts and Bolts of Digital Photography
taught by Mary Lou Frost

Have you noticed that your digital camera has many features that you’re not using? Here’s a chance for hands-on assistance.

Bring your camera and manual to class to learn how to access the features of your digital camera and improve the quality of the images that are printed, emailed or uploaded to a website.

You will receive hands-on assistance in class, receive printed notes for review between classes and have the opportunity to share images in class so that everyone can increase his or her skill as a digital photographer.

The instructor, Mary Lou Frost, is a retired teacher who has been presenting digital photography workshops in the Buffalo area and in Colorado during the summer. She is known for her skill in meeting students at their level and helping them to become more skillful photographers.

The course will run over two meetings: September 20th & 27th from 6-8pm.

What do you do?
I have been taking pictures for almost 20 years. I have a BFA in Photography from CalArts and an MFA from Tufts University/SMFA, Boston. I photograph library materials for Harvard University for my day job and I photograph historical architecture for my current personal project.

How do you do it?
I use a Hasseblad medium format camera with a 60mm lens. I travel to various sites that have been listed on the National Trust for Historic Preservation's 11 Most Endangered lists to take pictures. I'm interested in impermanence as how it relates to architecture. I've been working on it for 6 years and I'm currently trying to raise money on Kickstarter to continue with this project.

Why do you use iPrintfromHome.com?
I started using iPrintfromHome to turn digital files into slides, I continue to use them because of the great customer service and awesome product they deliver. I'm hoping my Kickstarter Campaign is successful so I can get all of the editions printed with iPrintfromhome!

Artist’s Statement:
“Identity” is an abstract autobiography of my experience as an outsider. I grew up the only non-white kid in my suburban community. I came out publicly at school and at home at the age of 15. I dropped out, moved out, and became a part of Buffalo’s fringe communities- gay youth, and drug culture. I was always on the outside of the mainstream. Others defined my identity by what I was not to them.

It wasn’t until much later in life that I accepted the things that make me different, and chose to celebrate them. In “Identity”, I have created mini-installations that form abstract landscapes or stories that suggest and reflect the solitary beauty of being divergent, different, misunderstood.

Wise is the Owner of 464 and Blink Galleries in Buffalo and is the President of the Emerging Leaders in the Arts Buffalo. Wise, a University at Buffalo graduate, grew up in Hamburg NY, and has lived in the city of Buffalo for the past 18 years.

You can now crop your images to your exact specifications while placing your order at iPrintfromHome.com. Using the zoom buttons along with drag & drop functionality, you can set your own custom crop and preview the changes in real time.

When you make changes to your Printing Preferences, you will be able to see how those changes will affect your order by viewing onscreen preview images. Artist’s Bio:
I have always enjoyed photography. For as long as I can remember, I have always been entranced by how professionals created such beautiful art!

Back in 2000 I entered a photo into the Kodak Y2K Digital Quilt and, surprisingly, I won one of the categories. From that moment on there was a fire in me that I could not put out. I had to learn everything I could about photography, and so my journey to becoming a professional began.

Over the course of 2 years, I learned all I could and experimented in different styles until I found a genre that I liked, and it happened to be portraiture. I have come to realize that I absolutely LOVE what I do. I love being able to have a family, or better yet a child, in my studio or to be on a location shoot and let them have fun in front of my camera! I try to build a relationship with my clients, to let them know that I value them as a person and as a client.

I have been published in Drum Magazine with a portrait of a local Buffalo Drummer Nick Mason and I have been published as well in The National Black Belt Magazine when I covered their 2009 Annual Grand Championship Tournament. Over the years I have helped out with different area photography organizations such as the Buffalo Photography Meetup Group and the Buffalo Modeling Meetup Group, both of which I was an assistant organizer. During this time I began to focus more on what I love to shoot and it became clear that it was families and children.

This brings me to the show that I am featuring at iPrintfromHome.com! I have yet to see another photographer in the WNY area that has done as many Tutu shoots as I have done and I aim to be the best in our area that I can be. So if you are looking to have your little princess dress up for me and have me capture her innocence and attitude to be remembered for a lifetime, or if you just want some memories of your family to be captured and shared with others, then please contact me at shelley@shelleykuhnphotography.com to set up an appointment for a studio or location shoot.

Drop Shipping Services

iPrintfromHome.com is pleased to offer drop shipping services so that you can send your orders directly to your clients. All you need to do is select “Drop ship to my client/friend” when you select your shipping address during the order placement process.

If you select to have your order drop shipped, your order will be shipped without an invoice or any promotional materials. We will also remove our company name from the return address and send your package in a plain mailer or box without any identifying markings.

For Photographic Prints, we typically include "backprinting" on the back of each print, which includes the name of your file (if the file name is not too long) as well as your iPrintfromHome.com order number. If you do not want backprinting on your prints, please send us an email immediately after your order has been placed to let us know and we will gladly accommodate your request.
